Master Agustin Cuascut
Master Cuascut has been studying martial arts for 35 years. He was initially introduced to the arts by his older brother, a black belt in Tang Soo Do Karate. At the age of seven, Master Cuascut moved to Puerto Rico and began his study of Vo Vit Nam Viet Vo Dao under Sifu Robert Rodriguez. After 6 years of instruction, Master Cuascut received his Black Sash in Vo Vit Nam. At the age of 14, Master Cuascut moved to Pennsylvania where he studied Tang Soo Do Mo Duk Kwon.
Upon graduation from McCaskey High School, Master Cuascut attended the Pennsylvania State University where he received a B.S. in Secondary Education Spanish, B.A. in Spanish Literature and a B.A. in Italian Literature. During his time at Penn State, Master Cuascut Began his study of Jung Sim Do Korean Karate. He received his 1st degree Black Belt in 1993 and his 2nd degree Black Belt in 2007 under Kwan Jung James Madera.
After graduating from Penn State, Master Cuascut moved to Rockville, Maryland where he taught Spanish at Magruder High School. After 5 years of teaching Master Cuascut decided to follow in the footsteps of his family and he joined the United States Army in August 2000.
Master Cuascut was part of the 18th Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his time in North Carolina, Master Cuascut began his study of JuDo under 7th degree Sensei Ron Hansen where he received his 2nd degree Black Belt. Master Cuascut was a Communication Security Specialist and a Parachutist during his time in the United States Army. Master Cuascut was the instructor for the 659th Maintenance Company Airborne in the system of L.I.N.E. fighting.
In 2003, Master Cuascut was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the United States Special Operations Command Task Force 20. In 2004 Master Cuascut returned to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2.5. During his second deployment Master Cuascut received his 2nd degree Black Belt under Grand Master Sung Bok Nam and instructed 10th Mountain, 1st Cavalry and the 18th Airborne Corps at BIAP, Iraq. In 2005, Master Cuascut was honorably discharged from the United States Army.
In 2005, Master Cuascut returned to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is presently teaching Spanish at McCaskey East High School. Master Cuascut continued his study of Tae Kwon Do through the USA National Tae Kwon Do Network. Master Cuascut received his 6th degree Black Belt in 2014. Master Cuascut is married and has three children.
