WHAT MAKES OUR SPORTS PERFORMANCE PROGRAM UNIQUE?

We bring in the combination of two of the most renowned athletic training programs in the country to train athletes here in Lancaster County: Parisi Speed School and Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning.

WHAT’S OUR FOCUS?

UNILATERAL TRAINING
The Sports Performance program at UAC focuses on unilateral training (one arm/leg) as opposed to bilateral training (both arms/legs). All of the movement that occurs on a playing field involves one leg or one arm. (We run and jump on one leg almost all the time.) This revolves around the research-backed phenomenon of bilateral limb deficit (BLD). This means that our unilateral strength is greater than half our strength on both legs. In other words, 1 + 1 is actually greater than 2 in the athletic world!

WE REALLY DO MEAN “FUNCTIONAL” TRAINING
Athleticism revolves around movements, not just building muscle. Our program develops functional strength that directly transfers to the playing field. The key is to focus on functional strength first!

WE TEACH SPEED
Improving one’s sport performance lies in the ability to produce speed and power. A lack of proper training prevents most athletes from ever reaching their potential. Nearly every aspect of speed (proper form/technique, foot quickness, force production, stride efficiency) can be improved when trained for strategically.

OUR PROGRAMS

ATHLETIC EVALUATION
Ages 7-18
Prior to starting the Parisi Speed School program, a certified Parisi coach will conduct an Athletic Evaluation. This helps determine a child or teen athlete’s strengths and areas for improvement. After the evaluation, the athlete and/or parent will meet with the Parisi coach to review the results and develop a training plan to help improve the way the child/athlete moves. Progress will be tracked along the way.

JUMP START
Speed is a Learned Skill
Ages 7-11
Focus: Sets an early athletic foundation.

The Parisi Jump Start program utilizes the most up-to-date research to build a young athlete’s physical foundation. The program helps improve coordination and self-confidence, and is taught by certified Parisi Performance Coaches. Our signature speed and strength training methods are serious, but all within a fun and friendly environment to ensure the young athlete is engaged and motivated to give 100%. Jump Start is a must for any young person who wants to develop an athletic foundation.

Focus: Training for maximum athletic performance
The Parisi Total Performance program utilizes the most up-to-date research on safe athlete training techniques and injury prevention as its foundation. This program uses our signature speed and strength training methods and cutting-edge coaching techniques from certified Parisi Performance Coaches to produce maximum improvements in athletic performance. At this level, programming is broken down into an individual focus per session: linear speed, change of direction or strength. This program builds on an athlete’s physical foundation and develops their skills in order for them to maximize their strength, speed, quickness, aerobic endurance and sport specific training. Athletes will also receive the skills and conditioning necessary to help prevent injuries through various warm-up exercises and proper training techniques.

Ages 7-18
Focus: Strength & Power
Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning, Created by Mike Boyle, a world-leading expert in strength, conditioning and functional fitness. Sessions build on a solid athletic foundation while staying focused on each athlete’s individual goals. Includes specialized instruction in movement training, proper functional strength, explosive power development, and injury reduction and rehabilitation. MBSC’s results-driven approach will translate into peak performance in any athlete’s respective sport.

TOTAL CONDITIONING
Fast, Fit, Fun®
Ages 12-18

Focus: Physical fitness and health awareness (Does not require an athletic evaluation)
Designed to get youth off the sofa and electronics and into having physical fun. Develops good exercise habits and awareness of nutrition. Uses medicine balls, resistance bands, body weight exercises, ladders, plyometrics, and fun challenges to keep youth coming back for more.
