In the past I was always able to maintain my target weight, 180-185, by running on a regular basis. However in 2015 I overdid it and injured my knee. It was a severe injury and I had to stop all training for at least six months. I gained weight, lost focus, and never resumed running. After three years my weight increased to 225 and I started to experience health issues. I knew I had to start exercising and lose weight. I never needed any help to get in shape but times had changed.

To make a long story short, I eventually got on track by joining Universal. At first I was just working out by myself and that wasn’t working. I was really out of shape. I signed up for a Thrive Class once a week but it was very difficult. I decided I needed a personal coach and that really helped. I started to make progress. My weight went down to 207 and I started to jog again. I now attend two Thrive Classes a week, hit the Circuit Training Room twice a week, and try to run for 40 minutes twice a week.

Everything improved but two years later my weight remained at 207. I realized I needed help to get back to my desired weight of 180-185. I recently got an email from Universal describing the Precision Nutrition program and signed up at the end of the year. I didn’t sign up earlier because I thought I could do it on my own. What I needed was a proven, formalized, nutrition and fitness program that would help me achieve and maintain my target weight. I like the daily checking in approach, and developing the right habits to succeed.

I am comfortable with online learning and like the question and answer section to help me stay on track. To move forward this year I need to sign on each day and follow the plan. I am sure there will be a learning curve with some ups and downs, but it is up to me to stay the course. As they say, “Inch by inch life’s a cinch, yard by yard life is hard, mile by mile life’s a trial”.
