Dietitian/Nutrition FAQs

What is Nutrition Coaching?

Nutrition Coaching is personalized guidance from our Registered Dietitian to help you eat in a way that supports your goals and fits your lifestyle. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle, improve your health, increase energy, or simply develop healthier habits, we'll create a realistic plan you can maintain for the long term.

Why should I work with a Registered Dietitian instead of a nutrition coach?

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a licensed nutrition expert with extensive education, supervised clinical training, and national credentialing. While anyone can call themselves a nutrition coach, a Registered Dietitian provides evidence-based guidance that's tailored to your health history, lifestyle, and goals. You'll receive advice you can trust—not the latest diet trend.

Who is Nutrition Coaching for?

Nutrition Coaching is for anyone who wants to improve their health through better nutrition. Whether you're trying to lose weight, manage a medical condition, improve athletic performance, gain muscle, or simply feel your best, our Registered Dietitian will help you build a plan that's right for you.

What is Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), and how does it help?

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) tracks how your body responds to the foods you eat throughout the day. This allows our Registered Dietitian to provide personalized recommendations based on your body's unique response—not guesswork. The result is smarter food choices, better energy, and sustainable habits that fit your lifestyle.

Will I receive a meal plan?

Rather than handing you a restrictive meal plan that's difficult to maintain, we help you build healthy eating habits that work in real life. Depending on your goals, you'll receive personalized meal suggestions, portion guidance, recipes, and practical strategies you can stick with for years—not just a few weeks.

Do I have to follow a strict diet?

No. We don't believe in crash diets or eliminating all of your favorite foods. Our goal is to help you develop a balanced, sustainable way of eating that supports your goals while fitting your lifestyle. The best nutrition plan is one you can actually maintain.

How does Nutrition Coaching work with Personal Training?

Nutrition and exercise are most effective when they work together. Our Registered Dietitian collaborates with your trainer to align your nutrition with your workouts, helping you lose fat, build muscle, improve recovery, and reach your goals more efficiently.

Can a Registered Dietitian help with medical conditions?

Yes. Our Registered Dietitian can provide nutrition guidance for concerns such as weight management, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, digestive health, and overall wellness. Every recommendation is based on your individual health needs and goals.

How is my progress measured?

Progress is tracked using the metrics that matter most to your goals. This may include body composition, weight, eating habits, energy levels, athletic performance, Continuous Glucose Monitoring data, and how you feel each day. As you progress, your plan evolves with you.

How do I get started?

Schedule a consultation with our Registered Dietitian to discuss your goals, lifestyle, and health history. Together, you'll create a personalized nutrition plan designed to help you achieve lasting results—without restrictive dieting or guesswork.

Should I eat something after my workout and if so, how many calories should it be?

  • Yes, within 30 to 45 minutes you want to refuel your body from your workout. This will keep your metabolism elevated and continuing to burn fat rather than your muscle.
  • Ideally, you should replace all the calories you burned during your workout for optimal results. This is even if you are trying to lose weight. This keeps the furnace burning at an optimal level.

I am in a rush after my class to get to work, an appointment, etc., is it possible to pre-order a shake?

Yes, you may! We have pre-order forms at the café with the standard shakes listed, but you may write in a current or previous shake of the month. If it is a milk-based shake, then list if you want whole, skim or almond milk.

  • Protein is a basic food group. Protein in the body builds and restores muscle.
  • Our protein is very clean.
  • Protein in a powdered form such as we use in our shakes, is no different than the protein you would get in a burger, chicken or protein bar, for example.
  • Our protein is perfectly safe for your child and is a well-balanced meal in a cup.

I have some special dietary needs (allergies, etc.), am I still able to get a shake? Do you have the nutritional information for your shakes?

  • Yes, we will gladly work with you to figure out what you can have in your shake and still enjoy it. There are a myriad of options available.
  • We have a nut free blender we can use upon request for those who have nut allergies. We take extra precautions in serving your shake as well as in the cleaning and sanitizing of the blender cup and lid. Just ask us to make the shake in the nut free blender. This means no almond milk may be used in this blender,
