I first joined Universal Athletic Club back in 2001 after trying a few gyms in the area. The other gyms didn’t hold my interest. I wanted more, and I found what I was looking for at Universal.

The first time I tried BODYPUMP and a cycling class at Universal I was hooked. I loved the music, and the instructors made it easy to follow the class. I started a regular routine with PUMP and RPM, and here I am 20 years later! My favorite classes are BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK, RPM, AND BODYCOMBAT. In each of these classes I get a great workout with fantastic music, instructors, and friends. I like having a variety, and I am very motivated with group fitness.

I have made so many friends since joining Universal. I decided that I wanted to do a sprint triathlon. A friend from Universal started running with me in preparation for my race. After completing the race we still continued with our runs. Since then we’ve complete five half marathons.

The instructors in this club are fantastic! They are high energy, encouraging, and always make me work harder. My advice to others who are looking to be successful with a fitness routine would be… Make a plan for a reasonable goal and figure out what you like. It’s easier if you are having fun! During this pandemic, UAC has been my happy place. I work in radiology, and the group fitness classes have kept me going. Thank you for all you do!
